BrookLodge holds a special place in our hearts as Annie and I got married there ourselves. We got married at Christmas, which has its own winter charm, but shooting a summer wedding together on a perfect day in Brooklodge always gives us both a bit of FOMO. There can’t be a better place to get married than a clearing in a forest by a stream in front of just your closest friends. Not really on option in winter if you still want them to be your friends.
Maire and Liam took myself and Annie over to Tuscany for the weekend to cover their Tuscany wedding. It turned out to be one of our the best weekends of the year (despite the 40 degree heat). They got married in ‘Capella di San Galgano a Montisiepi’ which is a small chapel on top of a hill which overlooks Tuscan vineyards and the famous Abbazzia di San Galgano (which we used afterwards for a little couple shoot).
They didn’t see each other before the wedding, they sent each other gifts and love notes. The bridesmaids wore identical dresses and carried matching bouquets. The proud mothers wore great hats and the proud dads struggled to hold in the tears during their speeches. Someone observed in Alish’s house that morning how classically traditional a wedding this was, apart from the two brides. Because that’s not an old tradition, it’s a new one in Ireland since 22 May 2015.
Juliet and Michael are known to to their family and friends as Jet & Mikey were childhood sweethearts and to the whole happy crowd in Dunbrody, they were Jet and Mikey.
That's also who they are to myself and Annie after a glorious September afternoon in Dunbrody House that was the opposite of unnecessary formality in every great way. This was a day for an outdoor ceremony (in homely but beautiful Dunbrody House) filled with the sounds of laughter from the anecdotes of old friends to a soundtrack of the piano played by a talented college roommate.
We just wanted to thank you both once again for capturing our wedding day so perfectly. The photographers are such a beautiful reminder of what was the best weekend of our lives. They are so full of life, joy and the natural documentary style that drew us to your work in the first place
Chris and Fiona grew up together in Enniskerry. Chris was able to walk from home to his wedding and Fiona could have all her musician friends fill the church with the sound of music. Lucky for them a homely local wedding in Enniskerry lands you in one of the most majestic settings in Ireland - Powerscourt House, set in the epic Powerscourt Gardens, 47 acres of the some of the most impressive gardens in the world. It's a national treasure, a tourist attraction and a treat for the guests as lovely as Fiona's "where did that come from?" incredible Opera singing mid-ceremony.
As much as I love country house festivals or the drama (and great light) of Irish castles, Dublin City centre weddings are always cool. I love the idea that Kirsten and Karim will walk past the place where they got married on their way to work or that as they’re saying their vows, taking in the biggest event of their lives…
A very special thank you from both of us for the most incredible wedding photography! We were both blown away by how you captured so many magical moments throughout the day. It was an absolute pleasure to have you both involved in our wedding day, from Kevin settling Sean's nerves to Annie keeping things together with Amy and the girls that morning. We are so excited to see our wedding album!
To Kevin & Annie,
We hope you and your son are all keeping well and staying safe. Thank you so much for all your wonderful pictures of our wedding day. We really appreciate all the time and effort you went to take them and prepare them for us. We will continue to recommend you to others.
Love,
Claire & Shane.
Ballymagarvey Village Wedding
Clelia Murphy & Neil Casely’s wedding in the Merrion Hotel and Pepper Canister church in Dublin City centre was one of the funniest and most fun weddings of 2023.
It was a day filled with joy, laughter, and a whole lot of fun. Clelia, known for her role as Niamh in RTE’s long running soap, Fair City, was surrounded by loved ones and familiar faces. Neil, a huge rugby fan, got the surprise of his life when the Irish rugby team drove past on their way to the Aviva Stadium to take on England.
