BrookLodge, Co. Wicklow – Sarah-Kate & James

BrookLodge will always hold a special place in our hearts because Annie and I were married there ourselves. We tied the knot at Christmas, which has its own winter magic, but photographing a summer wedding together on a perfect sunny day in BrookLodge always gives us a bit of FOMO.

There really isn’t a better place to get married than a clearing in the forest, by a stream, surrounded by your closest friends. In summer, with everything in full bloom and the water running by, it feels like something out of a storybook.

Sarah-Kate & James’ ceremony had one of those moments that nobody could have planned but everybody will always remember. A summer breeze picked up the marriage registration papers and blew the top sheet straight into the stream. Gasps turned to laughter (led by Sarah cracking up) as two groomsmen chased it down. It was pure joy — the kind of unexpected moment that makes a wedding day unforgettable.

This wasn’t a day for keeping clothes pristine “for the photos.” It was a day for tears of joy, for drinks in the sun with old friends, for al fresco music, and for laughing at life’s surprises. These are the stories you tell your grandchildren one day, and that’s what weddings are really about.

Sarah-Kate & James, thank you for letting us be part of your day. With the clear blue skies and the sound of laughter carrying through the valley, it was the kind of wedding that makes you grateful for every frame.

Shot with Annie Kheffache.
