Maire & Liam’s Tuscany (Italy) Wedding Photographer
Maire and Liam brought myself and Annie to Tuscany for their wedding, and it turned out to be one of the best weekends of the year — even with the 40-degree heat.
They were married at the Capella di San Galgano a Montisiepi, a small chapel perched on a hill overlooking Tuscan vineyards and the famous Abbazia di San Galgano. Afterwards, we used the abbey ruins for a couple shoot that gave us some of the most atmospheric photographs of the trip.
They celebrated with just over 100 of their closest family and friends, who stayed in local accommodation nearby. The reception was held at Tenuta di Papena, a former Cistercian monastery with an outdoor courtyard that felt like a little piazza in the middle of nowhere — complete with an infinity pool looking out across the Tuscan hills.
The weekend began with a relaxed sunset pizza party and rolled into a wedding day that felt timeless, intimate, and full of joy. It was the kind of celebration that reminded me why destination weddings are so special — bringing everyone together in one place, surrounded by incredible scenery and unforgettable food, wine, and light.
If you are considering getting married in Italy, I’d also suggest the Borgo di Tragliata in Tuscany. I’ve written a full venue guide about my expereince photographing an Irish wedding there too.
