Kirsten & Karim’s Wedding at The Dean, Dublin
As much as I love the drama of Irish castles or the romance of country houses, there’s something unforgettable about a city centre wedding in Dublin. Kirsten & Karim chose The Dean Hotel for their intimate ceremony, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
I love the thought that every time they walk through the city, they’ll pass the place where they said their vows. While they were marking one of the biggest moments of their lives, the world outside kept moving — buses, cafés, people rushing to work — completely unaware. It’s such a beautiful contrast and a reminder that the most meaningful moments often happen quietly, away from the spotlight.
An Intimate City Ceremony
Only twelve people were there to hear Kirsten & Karim say their vows in a private ceremony at The Dean. Later, sixty or so friends joined them for drinks and a party in a nearby city bar — proof that small weddings can still be full of energy and celebration.
Why Choose The Dean for a Dublin Wedding?
The Dean is one of Dublin’s most stylish boutique hotels and has become a favourite for couples looking for something modern and a little bit different. With its central location on Harcourt Street, it’s perfectly placed for city celebrations, and the interiors — bold design, rooftop views, and vibrant spaces — give every wedding a unique feel. For couples who love the idea of a wedding that blends Dublin’s energy with a relaxed, intimate atmosphere, The Dean is a perfect choice.
A Post-Covid Perspective
In a post-Covid world, smaller, simpler weddings have become more common. And honestly, I think there’s something really special about that shift. When a wedding is built around just the people you couldn’t imagine being without, it becomes about what matters most — love, connection, and celebration.
As a photographer, being invited into that kind of intimacy is a privilege. With the trimmings pared back, what shines through is the people and the emotions. And at the end of the day, that’s what photography is for — keeping hold of those moments with the ones we love.
