Sophie & Killian’s Ballintubbert House Wedding

Ballintubbert House is an 18th-century Georgian manor surrounded by 14 acres of organic gardens. It is the kind of place that feels calm even when there is so much anticipation in the air. On August 8, 2025, I arrived to find Sophie getting ready in the Main House while Killian and his party prepared in the School House. Both settings had that soft golden morning light that tend to me make every photograph sing.

Sophie’s bridesmaids, Isabel and Maria, helped with final touches. Killian’s brothers and father had a good laugh together in the School House.

Outdoor Ceremony: Under the Organic Canopy

By 2 pm, guests gathered in the Fountain Garden for a beautiful outdoor ceremony. Ballintubbert’s gardens are just gorgeous on the best of days but when the sun is shining they are just stunning.

Sophie walked down the aisle with Annie O’Reilly, who is a close friend and celebrant guiding the vows. Juliana’s singing and John’s accompaniment filled the air. The whole thing felt deeply personal and moving with family and friends gathered close around them.

Couple Shoot: Eight Minutes of Pure Joy

Sophie and Killian gave me about eight minutes for their couple shoot. That was plenty because Sophie and Killian lit up every frame with pure joy. Against the arboreal aisles of the gardens and the backdrop of the House we created natural portraits that needed no staging. When love is that radiant eight minutes is more than enough.

Outdoor Drinks: Laughter and Hugs in the Orchard

After the ceremony guests wandered through the gardens into Little’s Orchard and the Tabernacle for drinks. The atmosphere was everything Sophie & KIllian had hoped for. Friends embracing, big smiles, conversations starting up again after years apart. It made it very easy from a photography POV, the joy in every single frame.

Speeches and Entrance: Heartfelt Words and Celebration

Around 6 pm Emily coordinated the speeches before dinner. The words were heartfelt, funny and set the perfect tone for the evening. Sophie and Killian then made their grand entrance to laughter and applause. we did a quick full wedding group photo on the mound and I wrapped up at the dinner call, but not before spotting a few familiar faces. I knew at least six of the guests from previous weddings and I will be photographing one of the couples again next year at Rathsallagh.

Content Creation Video: Memories in Motion

Alongside the photography I filmed short video segments to create a content creation video for Sophie and Killian. From preparations through ceremony highlights to the hugs and laughter at drinks I put together a visual story that matched the spirit of their day. A blend of stills and motion that keeps the energy of the wedding alive.
