Rebecca & Dave; Powerscourt House, Enniskerry

If ever there was a wedding that showed why Powerscourt House in County Wicklow is one of Ireland’s most spectacular venues, this was it. Rebecca and Dave’s day had it all: timeless romance, a horse and cart arrival, and the perfect mix of elegance and fun.

A Dramatic Arrival

Rebecca set the tone for the day with her unforgettable entrance. She arrived to Powerscourt House in a horse and cart, and the look on everyone’s faces said it all. In her own words, “If there’s a day to be extra, it’s your wedding day.” I could not agree more.

That sense of drama and joy ran through the entire day. From the moment Rebecca stepped down at the front of the house, surrounded by the grandeur of the Wicklow mountains, the atmosphere was electric.

Photographing a Photographer

Dave is no stranger to the camera. In fact, he is Conor McGregor’s personal photographer, which added a unique twist to the day for me. Photographing a talented photographer always comes with a certain pressure, and this was no exception. I knew the images needed to be both creative and timeless, something that would resonate with someone who lives and breathes photography.

The Award-Winning Hasselblad Image

One of my favourite moments of the day came when I picked up my Hasselblad film camera to create what would become the hero image. That photograph went on to win multiple awards and has since been featured in a special “Behind the Image” article on the IPPVA website.

In that piece I shared exactly how I approached the shot, why I reached for film instead of digital, and the creative decisions that went into it. Powerscourt’s classical architecture, the play of light, and the raw emotion of the moment all came together in a single frame. For me it was a reminder that sometimes one photograph can define an entire wedding story.

A Venue That Elevates Every Moment

Powerscourt House is a dream location for any wedding photographer. The grand façade, the sweeping staircase, the gardens, and the views across the Wicklow landscape provide an endless variety of backdrops. Whether it is a candid moment between a couple or a wide shot that shows the majesty of the setting, the venue elevates every frame.

Rebecca and Dave’s wedding captured everything that makes Powerscourt special. The glamour of the horse and cart arrival, the warmth of their family and friends, and the creative energy of two people who live life at full tilt.

Why Choose Powerscourt House for Your Wedding Photography

As a Powerscourt House wedding photographer, I can honestly say it is one of the most inspiring venues in Ireland. Every wedding here feels cinematic, but what makes it truly special is how it allows couples to put their own stamp on the day. Rebecca and Dave chose elegance with a playful twist, and it suited them perfectly.

If you are planning a Powerscourt House wedding and want your photography to reflect not just how your day looked but how it felt, I would love to hear from you.
