Cloughjordan Wedding Photographer | Top 5 Reasons to Get Married at Cloughjordan House

If you’re dreaming of a relaxed, soulful wedding in Ireland with incredible food, a bit of magic and space to truly be yourselves, Cloughjordan House is one of those places that needs to be on your list.

I’ve photographed dozens of weddings at Cloughjordan over the years and no two have ever felt the same. That’s what makes it special. It’s not just a venue. It’s a living, breathing place that seems to reflect the people who gather there. Whether it’s sunny or stormy or somewhere in between it always delivers. And from a photographer’s point of view it’s a dream location.

Here’s why I think Cloughjordan House is one of the best wedding venues in Ireland and why it photographs so beautifully every single time.

1. The Food is Off the Charts

If food is a big part of your day this is the place. Cloughjordan House is known for its food and for good reason. The kitchen team genuinely cares about what they’re serving and most of what ends up on your plate is grown right there in the walled garden or sourced locally.

You get real choice too. Some couples go for generous feasting platters. Others choose more traditional plated courses. Whatever the style the food is always colourful fresh and completely delicious.

From my side of the camera it looks amazing too. Long banquet tables. Wine being poured. Bread being broken. It adds so much warmth and atmosphere to the photos.

2. The Staff Are Genuinely Incredible

This isn’t just a throwaway line. The team at Cloughjordan House are hands down some of the best in the country. Every time I work there I notice how calm and kind they are and how effortlessly they run the day.

They’ll know your name. They’ll anticipate what you need. They’ll treat your wedding like it’s the only one that matters. That kind of energy is rare and it makes such a difference.

As a photographer it’s a gift to work with a team who just get it. The day flows. The couple feels at ease. And the photos come naturally.

3. It Looks Amazing in Every Kind of Light

Cloughjordan is one of those venues that just works. It photographs beautifully in every season and every type of Irish weather.

The main house has this lovely soft light and neutral tones that make skin tones look amazing. The grounds are full of mature trees wildflowers and little secret spots for portraits. The Coach House where most receptions happen has exposed stone high ceilings and the warmest golden glow once the fairy lights kick in. The new Baker room is a thing to behold. So much so, I gave it a a whole paragraph of it’s own on Aoife & Brian’s real wedding feature.

I’ve shot weddings here in blazing sunshine and during Irish storms and it always gives you something special to work with.

4. You Get the Place to Yourself

Unlike a lot of venues there’s no conveyor belt feeling at Cloughjordan. You get the full run of the place and that freedom changes everything.

You can set up the way you want. You don’t have to worry about strangers wandering past or being rushed into the next thing. You and your guests can just settle in and enjoy the day.

For me that means I get to capture more natural moments. Little interactions that happen when people are relaxed and not watching the clock. That’s where the real story lives.

5. It’s Sustainable and Full of Soul

There’s a real intention behind how Cloughjordan House is run. It’s one of the most genuinely sustainable wedding venues in Ireland and it shows in all the right ways.

The land is cared for. The food is local and organic. There’s a permaculture ethos behind the garden and even the way the accommodation is styled feels thoughtful and personal.

But it never feels preachy. Just grounded. You get the sense that this is a place with heart. And if you care about having a low-impact wedding it’s an easy yes.

If you’re even slightly considering it my advice is simple – go visit. Walk the grounds. Meet the team. Sit in the courtyard with a coffee and let the place speak for itself.

And if you’re looking for a Cloughjordan wedding photographer who knows the light the rhythm of the day and how to stay out of the way while still capturing all the emotion I’d love to chat.

You bring the story. I’ll bring the camera.
