Award-Winning Documentary Wedding Photography in Ireland

I’ve always believed that great wedding photography is about capturing real moments as they happen, the quiet ones, the joyful ones, and everything in between. That’s why it means so much to me when my work is recognised by international associations who value the same approach.

Back in 2018, I was honoured to be ranked in the Top 100 Wedding Photojournalists in the World by the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA). Out of thousands of photographers across the globe, I placed 57th and earned a coveted Top 100 Badge. To be listed alongside so many unbelievably talented photographers was a real highlight in my career.

A special mention also goes to Annie, who placed 9th in the World and 5th in Europe that year — an incredible achievement and one that I’m still so proud of her for.

These awards reflect the style of photography I love most: documentary wedding photography. Rather than staging or directing every moment, it’s about being present, anticipating emotion, and telling the true story of a wedding day. Recognition from the WPJA affirmed that this approach resonates not just with couples, but within the wider wedding photography community.

Awards are never the main goal, but they remind me of the importance of staying true to the craft. More importantly, they show couples that when they choose me to document their wedding, they’re trusting someone whose work has been celebrated on an international stage.
