Bailey & Joe’s Intimate Dublin City Hall Wedding

Some weddings feel like they could only have happened in Dublin. Bailey and Joe’s day was exactly that. A couple originally from the States, they gathered a small circle of family and friends in the heart of the city and created something that was simple, intimate, and full of character.

A Ceremony at Dublin City Hall

City Hall is one of my favourite places to photograph. The light inside is soft and natural, pouring in through the dome and reflecting off all that pale stone. It’s elegant without being grandiose and feels instantly personal when couples fill the space with their own people. You can find more about hosting your wedding at Dublin City Hall — it’s a perfect choice for couples who want the atmosphere of the city wrapped around them.

Bailey and Joe exchanged vows surrounded by family and a few close friends. The focus was entirely on them and the meaning of the moment, which is exactly how it should be. Annie (Annie Kheffache Photography) and I worked side by side, capturing everything from the nervous excitement before the ceremony to the joy and laughter that followed.

A Pint at O’Donoghue’s

After City Hall, the group made its way down to O’Donoghue’s Pub on Baggot Street. It doesn’t get much more Dublin than a pint of Guinness in one of the city’s best-loved pubs. For Bailey and Joe, it was a chance to relax, soak up the atmosphere, and have a few candid moments with friends. These are the kinds of stops I love most on wedding days — the little pauses where couples can breathe and just be themselves.

Portraits in the City Centre

We spent some time walking through the streets, making the most of Dublin’s backdrop. There’s something special about city centre weddings — every corner offers a texture or colour, from Georgian brick to modern shopfronts. It suits documentary photography perfectly because the city becomes part of the story.

Dinner and Speeches at 25 Fitzwilliam

The day ended with dinner and speeches at 25 Fitzwilliam Place, an elegant townhouse restaurant that feels more like someone’s home than a venue. It’s one of Dublin’s hidden gems — beautifully restored rooms, warm service, and food that makes everyone feel spoiled. For Bailey and Joe, it was the perfect way to end the evening.

A Dublin Wedding with Character

Bailey and Joe’s wedding was proof that you don’t need hundreds of guests or a long timeline to create a wedding worth remembering. A meaningful ceremony, a pint in a favourite pub, a walk through the city, and a beautiful dinner with your closest people — that’s all it takes.
